Matt McCormick (Director) is TLT’s Resident Designer/Technical
Director and so is wearing yet another hat in this production, serving as
the Director as well. His last directorial project was another Neil Simon
comedy, Barefoot in the Park, in 1996 in Traverse City (MI) where he also
directed The Trip to Bountiful and Mass Appeal. As it so happens, Matt’s
first on-stage appearance was in 1989 playing James Hennessey in Biloxi Blues
and he is thrilled to be revisiting this play from the director’s
vantage point. In addition to directing and performing in numerous plays,
Matt’s career path has had him working in publishing as a magazine
art director/photographer/illustrator/advertising artist
as well as a senior environmental graphic designer with Corbin Design. Following
a move from his native northern Michigan in 2004, he and his partner, Guy
Molnar, spent a year in St Louis, MO where he worked as a Scenic Artist
with STAGES St Louis. Upon relocating to Tallahassee in 2005 he joined the
staff at TLT and has not seen much in the way of downtime since.
