Lanny Thomas co-directed last season’s
The Boys Next Door with Chuck Olsen. At TLT, Lanny heads the Director Selection
Committee. He also conducts an Actor’s Workshop that meets every
two weeks and he teaches a private acting class. He was last seen as an
actor in Tallahassee as Peter in TLT’s Coffeehouse production of
Bug. The previous season he played Katurian in The
Pillowman for TLT, and
Ayamonn in the Irish Society’s reading of Red
Roses For Me. Prior
to that, he was Finbar Mack in the Irish Society’s production of
The Weir and appeared in The Gift of Peace, a production promoting the
Department of Peace. Other roles at TLT include Sgt Toomey in Biloxi
Blues and Mr. Marks in Intimate Apparel. His play Imprints was produced in Los
Angeles, which he directed, and at the University of Nebraska. He received
his undergraduate degree in Theater from the University of Maryland and
his Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the California Institute of the
Arts. Lanny is married to FSU Theater faculty member Debra Hale and they
have one son, Aidan.
